As a current member of the Rio Hondo Community College Board, I am proud of the progress we have made and seek your support to continue our vital work.
Kristal Orozco is a proud mother, educator, and former community college student. She began her academic journey at Pasadena City College, where she earned her associate’s degree before transferring to Whittier College to complete her bachelor’s degree in history. She later earned a master’s degree in Higher Education Administration from Loyola Marymount University.
Throughout her career, Orozco has returned to her roots as an educator, teaching at schools in the Montebello Unified School District. Her experiences as a first-generation college student and a working mother have shaped her understanding of the challenges students face today. These experiences drive her passion for creating equitable outcomes for all students.
Kristal is committed to increasing student access to counseling services, mental health resources, and social service programs, ensuring that all students have the support they need to succeed. In addition to her role as trustee, she is a wife and mother to two young children, Roman (10) and Ximena (5), and lives with her family in Santa Fe Springs.
As your Rio Hondo College Trustee, Kristal is focused on addressing the core challenges and opportunities that shape the future of our college. Her platform is built on the principles of student success, community engagement, and equity. By focusing on these key areas, She will continue to support the growth and progress of Rio Hondo College for the benefit of all.
Whether you have questions, want to get involved, or simply want to share your thoughts, I’d love to hear from you. Your feedback and support are invaluable as we work together to strengthen our community and make Rio Hondo College even better.
